ah, to be young and extremely fit again!! these hit a special note, i've been a swimmer since i was a tyke.

  2. Raymond says:

My goodness woman, what kinda 'Big Mama" lens is that? Is it even legal?

  3. Waterbaby says:

and oh yeah, so interesting, the variety of positions that moment off the starting block

  4. Well it was a sheltered pool even though there were no walls… so I guess you can call it indoors 😀 Thanks for the kind comments 🙂

  5. Ah… hence the name 🙂 Did you participate in a lot of these competitions? I hear the training can be pretty tough!

  6. Maybe it isn't cos I was chased away by multiple people cos I wasn't wearing a press pass. But I was part of the organising workforce so I don't understand the strict treatment of passes. 😦

  7. Somehow the ladies managed to be quite synchronised already… the guys just looked they were flinging themselves into the water in a huge variety of styles and timings

  8. Waterbaby says:

yeah, i used to swim competitively; distance freestyle and the backstroke were my events.

  9. Waterbaby says:

oh, i wasn't thinking from the viewpoint of synchronization, rather best body position off the starting block and yes there is a science to it.

  10. excellent action shots – your timing on these are fantastic!
