Killing Animals In The Name Of Art

It's been a sad few days here since the discovery of an art installation which includes the mass killing of butterflies and bees.

The artist (Harsono) says he wants to show how vulnerable the victims of social unbalance and power struggle in society are.

And this he does, by being just as brutal as the situation he wants to portray negatively.

It's a sad sad, sick sick, disgusting act.

If a butterfly should die for Art, where does an artist cross the line?

Is it okay to kill a cat for Art?  An elephant?

Butterflies and bees are still animals, no matter how small.

NO ANIMAL no matter how big or small should have to DIE FOR ART.

It says that the exhibition will continue to run irregardless of its wrong.

Well he certainly made it clear who are the "powerful and the powerless" didn't he?Sigh. Every life is valuable and I don't think this was necessary to get the point across that there is cruelty and oppression in the world. Not good. 😦

  2. Thanks Lauri. 🙂 It would be good if you could also put in your comments in the TodayOnline so that the artist knows that there are people outside of the country who also care. 🙂 And.. thanks for caring! 😀

  3. Lauri says:

I will definitely do that, b.e.! Thanks!
